Acute and Chronic Pain

Acute pain begins suddenly and is usually sharp in quality. Acute pain may last for a few seconds to weeks or months. If pain persists longer than 6 months it is considered chronic pain. Chronic pain persists despite the fact that the injury has healed. 

Acupuncture is an effective treatment for acute and chronic pain. Acupuncture works to correct balances in the nervous system that are leading to pain and inflammation.
